June 2026 — Dispatch #01: Luuk Postponement & Alignment

We intended to ship the Luuk application this past Tuesday. We did not.

Rather than masking the delay with vague public relations statements, we prefer to share the raw engineering data, the decisions we made, and how we are structuring our operations moving forward.

Here is the update.

I. The Engineering Threshold

A launch date is a social expectation; system integrity is a physical constraint. We prioritize the latter.

During our final pre-release stress tests, we evaluated the database's resilience under concurrent loads. The data revealed two clear limits:

* Performance Degradation: At 160 concurrent users (CCU), transaction latency began to climb.

* System Failure: At 500 CCU, the database failed.

For an application designed to handle financial transactions and real-time logistics, launching under these conditions introduces unacceptable operational risk.

The mitigation:

We are currently restructuring our database queries and offloading video assets to a Content Delivery Network (CDN) to reduce the load on our primary database. We will schedule the launch once the architecture demonstrates stable performance under sustained load.

II. Labor Leverage and AI Adaptation

Building software in the current environment requires continuous operational adaptation.

Recently, Codecraft restructured and downsized its core engineering team. Simultaneously, our integration of AI-assisted development tools has progressed faster than budgeted. This technological leverage has allowed our leaner engineering footprint to maintain development velocity, automating routine code generation so our developers can focus on complex challenges like our database architecture.

III. Incentive Alignment with Luuk Market

Having designed the Luuk application, we believe that transactional vendor-client relationships often fail to produce long-term software quality.

To ensure our incentives are structurally aligned with the success of Luuk Market Nigeria Limited, both leadership teams are meeting this week to discuss equity alignment. We believe that shared ownership creates a better environment for building resilient products.

IV. Physical Fulfillment: The Kwikpik Partnership

Software efficiency is only valuable if the physical delivery loop operates with the same precision.

To bridge this gap, we have partnered with Kwikpik Logistics. We are currently finalizing the Service Level Agreement (SLA) to automate dispatch coordination directly within the Luuk application ecosystem. This integration ensures that the physical fulfillment process matches the digital experience.

The Balance of Speed vs. Integrity

Building in public means being honest about engineering bottlenecks. We believe that delaying a launch to secure database safety is the only responsible path forward.
